Endo warriors make their voices heard
Endometriosis warriors marched for a good cause through East Rand Mall on Monday, March 31, with the purpose of creating awareness.
A group of men and women made their voices heard by marching with posters through the mall in special black T-shirts supplied by the Endometriosis Association of South Africa.
According to the organiser, Rèchelle Heldsinger, this was their first march to raise awareness of this painful disease, and even though they were only seven who took part, she hopes for next year to be bigger and better.
To spread more information about Endometriosis, Heldsinger also set up an information stand at the mall on Sunday, March 30.
“I will not stop until there is enough awareness and I hope that it at least planted a seed to make people think and take note,” says Heldsinger.
“We do this so that women start talking about it.”
Heldsinger encourages young ladies who experience severe menstrual pains, pelvic pain and lower back pain to be examined, because it is not normal.
“If you suspect that something is wrong, be adamant with your doctor to look for Endometriosis. Don’t go through this alone – you don’t have to be ashamed about it,” says Heldsinger.

I really like that these brave ladies did this. I suffer from endometriosis and if i were closer i would’ve joined them. Well done ladies and guy, we need more people like them!
