Three suspects nabbed for dismantling stolen vehicle

A tip-off from a member of the Vosloorus community led to an arrest of three men while they were dismantling three vehicles at a residential premise.

According to Supt Wilfred Kgasago, spokesperson for the EMPD, one of the three vehicles was confirmed to be stolen with a Dobsonville police station case number.

“The arrests took place on March 17, at around 10am, in Vosloorus. The Intervention Unit of EMPD established that the Mazda 323 sedan was stolen in Dobsonville earlier this month.”

He adds that the fragments of all the three vehicles were transported to the SAPS pound in Benoni.

The three men, aged between 42 and 63, were charged with being in possession of a stolen vehicle.

The case was opened at the Vosloorus police station, and the men are expected to appear in the Vosloorus Magistrate’s Court soon.
