Resident concerned over Bokkie Park shelter
Boksburg resident, Roxanne du Plessis, has expressed her concerns over the lack of shelter for animals at the Bokkie Park.

According to her, the metro stated that the shelter would be done in December of 2013.
She adds that while she is happy to see that the metro was doing something to improve the park, it has been three months later than the deadline, and still the animals have no shelter.
“It’s very unacceptable that nothing is being done to accommodate these poor animals,” she says.
Du Plessis adds that it has been raining for a weeks and the animals have no other choice but to stand in the rain.
“The Bokkie Park is an attraction for the local people and many people come there regularly to spend a day around the animals. How will this be possible in years to come if the poor animals die from cold and sickness due to them not being properly sheltered and cared for?”
Du Plessis suggests that the metro charge a R2 entrance fee to the park to raise funds for the upkeep.
At the time of going to print, no comment from the metro had been received.
