The Department of Basic Education honoured and saluted the heroes and heroines of our nation with a prestigious gala ceremony at the Birchwood Hotel, Boksburg, on Thursday evening, March 6. The 2013 National Teaching Awards was dedicated to the teachers of our country, the selfless individuals that open the doors of knowledge to the future leaders, activists and custodians of our nation.
