Get redy for the Carnival City Macsteel National Classic Cycle Race
The Carnival City Macsteel National Classic Cycle Race will take centre stage on Sunday, February 23, a week after the Dis-Chem Ride for Sight race.

The race, which is jointly organised by the Germiston Rotary Club and the Germiston Wheelers Cycle Club, will begin and end at Carnival City – its home since 2001.
The 30th Germiston classic cycle race will attract an estimated 4 750 cyclists in various categories. It is the last major race on the Gauteng calendar before the Cape Argus. It is also a seeding event for the 94.7 Cycle Challenge.
A kiddies race will also take place at Carnival City on the day on a “specially-built” track, with sufficient adult supervision. Prizes, including a girls and boys bike will be up for grabs in a lucky draw.
Online entries for the Macsteel race close on February 11 but late entries can be made at the following venues:
* Cycle Lab, Centurion Gate on February 20, between 9am and 5pm.
* Cycle Lab, Nicol Grove Fourways on February 21, between 9am and 5pm.
* Tour de France Cycle Lab, Boksburg on February 22, between 8am and 2pm.
Entries made on the day will be only accepted for the 65km and kiddies race.
The event comprises of the following categories:
* Mens Elite (Top Clubs) 160km
* Licensed Vets (30-49 year olds) 103km
* Licensed Ladies,Vets and Open 103km
* Licensed Boys and Girls and open 65km
* Kiddies race (2- 8 year olds)
