Suspect arrested in Vosloorus

A 33-year-old man broke into a home in Brakpan and stole goods to the value of R40 000 on February 4, before being arrested in Vosloorus.

According to Supt Wilfred Kgasago, spokesperson for the EMPD, the suspect called his friends under the pretext that his aunt was moving and he needed a vehicle to transport the goods and clothing.

“The friends assisted the suspect to load the stolen property into their Volkswagen bakkie and headed for Vosloorus.

“At the intersection of Barry Marais and Heidleburg roads members of the EMPD Community Liaison Unit confronted them,” says Kgasago.

He says that on finding the goods in the vehicle, the suspect confessed to the crime.

”The suspect was arrested and a case of possession of stolen property was opened at the Dawn Park SAPS.”

He is expected to appear in the Vosloorus Magistrate’s Court soon.
