Du Plooy leaves CBC’s Premier Cricket side
CBC Old Boys top-order batsman, Henning du Plooy, has left the Premier League side for North-West University (NWU).
According to his father, Roelf, who is also the manager of the Premier League side, Henning will be studying and playing cricket for the university after receiving a cricket bursary.
“He will be playing his first game for Pukke (NWU) this weekend,” confirmed Roelf.
“He’ll also be playing for the North-West Dragons with the aim of making it for the Lions (Highveld Lions), which is the ultimate goal.”
The 19-year-old Henning will be studying for a degree in human movement science.
He joined CBC Old Boys in 2012 after a four-year stint with Tembisa Cricket Club. His last game for CBC was in the local derby against Boksburg in early December last year.
