Superstar van Veen to ignite your night

Singer, mime artist and sketch performer Herman van Veen will captivate audiences for the first time since 2005, at, Emperors Palace's Theatre of Marcellus, on January 25 and 26.

He will be accompanied by guitarist Edith Leerkens, instrumentalists Willem Wits and Dave Wismeijer, while the great Dutch master of melody explores his popular vintage collection of songs, mimes and sketches.

The concert will incorporate instrumental adaptations from great musical composers throughout history.

As well as his artful skill for song, Herman plays the violin, writes, composes, directs, and paints.

His most prolific creation, Alfred Jodocus Kwak – his Dutch/Japanese cartoon creation, gained world fame with a 52-episode television series.

Van Veen has recorded 175 CDs, 21 DVDs, and written over 20 books and scenario plots for films and musical theatre, in four different languages.

He has a philanthropic side, which becomes evident in his 51-year tenure as an Unicef ambassador and with humanitarian organisations such as The Columbine Foundation, The Roses for Children Foundation and The Herman Van Veen Foundation.
