CBC keep title hopes alive

In their first match of the second half of the Eastern Premier League, on Sunday, January 12, Actonville Spurs Cricket Club’s Premier XI came up against second-placed CBC Old Boys, at Lords Cricket Ground, in Actonville.

The visiting team romped to victory by 93 runs and kept up their chase for the Eastern Premier League title.

The visitors batted first and scored 179 for 10 in 44.2 overs, with Nicholas Lockyer (47) and Divan Posthumus (40) the team’s top scorers on the day.

Lafras Moolman was the pick of the home side’s bowlers, obtaining figures of 3/13 in 7.2 overs.

Logan Fortuin was the best of the Actonville batsmen and scored 21 in a paltry innings of 86 all out.

CBC’s Craig Parker was the best bowler for his team, with figures of 3/24 in eight overs.
