Drug dealer arrested

Members of the Boksburg North SAPS arrested a 23-year-old man on December 28, for dealing in drugs.

According to Lieut Juanita Coetzer, communications officer for the Boksburg North SAPS, Const Loraine Swart and Const Timothy Mahapa were patrolling by vehicle when they stopped the man, travelling in a white Picanto.

“They searched the vehicle and the suspect and found 51 packets of suspected CAT and other illegal substances,” she says.

The man was taken to the Boksburg North police station.

n Four men attempted to rob a cellphone store in the East Rand Mall on January 6, around 11.30am .

According to Coetzer, one of them was armed.

“At the time of the hold up, one of the employees pressed the panic button. The suspects fled the scene and ran through the mall.”

She adds that two members of the community chased after the suspected and apprehended the suspect with the firearm.

“The police arrested the suspect and confiscated the 9mm CZ pistol with 10 live rounds.”
