R2 000 worth of dagga seized

A routine patrol by the EMPD's Germiston Task Team in Sixth Street, Boksburg North, led to an arrest of a man for possession and dealing in dagga on January 6.

According to Supt Wilfred Kgasago, spokesperson for the EMPD, the man had been observed for some time operating openly from a sidewalk.

“The metro police were attracted to the suspect when he was seen being approached by several persons and an apparent exchange of money.

“On confronting the suspect, the metro police officers found cash on his person and 101 small packets of dagga in the schoolbag he was carrying.

“The 25-year-old suspect was arrested and his illicit wares and money presumed to be proceeds from selling the dagga was confiscated.”

The suspect was charged with possession and dealing in dagga at Boksburg North SAPS.

He is expected to appear in the Boksburg Magistrate’s Court soon.
