“On receiving a tip-off, Dawn Park policemen raided the woman’s home in Windmill Park on October 18, and different kinds of ammunition were found,” says Dawn Park police spokesperson WO Prudence Mvelase.
Mvelase says it is alleged that the Zimbabwean woman was buying and hiring out firearms to locals.
The suspect was detained and appeared in court on Monday, October 21.
Other crimes reported and arrests made by the Dawn Park police station from October 18 to October 20 include:
* An assault by three suspects with a pick handle in Windmill Park left a man in a serious but stable condition. The victim was hospitalised, and the suspects were apprehended and appeared in court.
The case has been postponed to October 28.
* One suspect has been arrested for malicious damage to property in Marbleton extension ten. Suspect was arrested and appeared in court on Monday, October 21.
* Six arrests were made for drinking and urinating in public.
