Generous donations get SPCA cycling for a good cause

Boksburg SPCA chairperson Alta Gobey has committed to entering the 55km 94.7 Cycle Challenge, which is taking place on November 17, to support the SPCA’s plight.

Local inspector Diale Ratsela will join Gobey in the cycling event, as Derek Yelveron donated a bicycle to aid him in his goal of competing in the race.

Not only did the SPCA receive this generous donation from Yelveron, but he further donated dog food, a large number of brooms, rakes, hose pipes and tools.

“Thank you Yelveron. You enable us to do so much more for the animals,” says Boksburg SPCA manager Wilma Steynbergh.

Dr Andre Muntu has also asked the SPCA if he could join in the cycle challenge.

“We have signed him up in the hope that we will find another bicycle for him to use on the day. So, please contact us should you be able to assist us,” says Steynbergh.

“We take this opportunity to thank the members of the community who are sponsoring us for every kilometre we complete. The more funds we can raise, the more we can do to prevent cruelty to animals.

“We also thank those who donated wheelbarrows and all the other garden equipment.”
