NPO raises R1-million

Members of the East Rand community came together in support of the initiative, either as bakers or buyers, and managed to raise R36 661 for the cause.

East Rand Mall will also be donating R20 000 to the organisation making the total amount raised R56 661.

The NPO holds various events during the year, but their main event is hosting South Africa’s National Cupcake Day 4 Kids with Cancer in September as part of is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.

The national event is a community-driven project and an event aimed at bringing the whole community together for a good cause.

The funds raised through the selling of the cupcakes will be used to help give a child a fighting chance against cancer.
