Looking ahead to BCC’s new season
Boksburg Cricket Club is in full swing with practice as they prepare for the new season starting in the second week of October.

The club will be hoping that their proud tradition of winning a number of age group leagues continues into the new season.
The club has entered many sides into the new 2013/ 2014 league, starting from under-eights to men’s senior cricket.
The junior cricketers as a whole will be hoping to maintain their impressive winning ratio obtained last season when the u-10, u-12 and u-14 sides all won their respective categories.
The second and third senior Saturday teams are hoping to clinch their third consecutive season win.
For the club’s Sunday league, two sides have been entered in the Promotion and Directors league.
The teams entered feature young players who will be pitting their skills against more established players in what will be very competitive leagues.
According to club chairman Bruce Forbes, the latest developments at the club are part of future preparation to groom young players to compete in the Premier League.
The Premier League side finished fifth last season behind winners Benoni Northerns.
Boksburg will get things going in the Premier League on October 6 when they face Tembisa at home.
This will be followed by clashes against United (October 13) and Benoni (October 20).
Practise takes place at Prince George Park in the centre of Boksburg CBD with games being played on Friday nights and Saturday mornings for juniors and Saturday afternoons and Sundays for seniors.
