Gun part and dagga found in school

School patrollers at Oos Rand Secondary School found three fingers of dagga in possession of one of the school’s students, on Friday, August 30.

At the same time, patrollers also recovered a part of a gun hidden inside a dustbin.

According to the police, the school patrollers smelt a strong odour omitting from the toilet, and upon investigation, they found the boy smoking marijuana in the school’s toilet.

They searched the accused and found dagga in his possession.

The police were called and the boy was immediately placed under arrest and charged with possession of dagga.

However, he was later released because he is a minor.

He is expected to appear in court on September 2.

The gun part was taken by the police and a ballistic test will be conducted on it.

The school has confirmed both incidents.

The suspected student is suspended and will face disciplinary action.

This is not an isolated dagga case at the school.

An 18-year-old East Rand Secondary School student was found in possession of nine dagga fingers on April this year.
