
* Ephraim Shabango (52), appeared in court on charges of assault with the intent to do grievous bodily harm.
He pleaded guilty, was found guilty, and sentenced on August 13, to R3 000 or six months imprisonment with a further 18 months imprisonment suspended for five years.
On June 2, the accused assaulted Petros Makhaba by stabbing him seven times with a sharp object. All the wounds were superficial.
He had three previous convictions of assault.
Magistrate Hans Havenga presided over the matter, and Khato Ranwedzi appeared on behalf of the State.
* Ydeka Mfanda (31), from Rondebult, appeared in court on charges of theft.
She pleaded guilty, was found guilty, and sentenced on August 12, to three years imprisonment.
On June 27, the accused stole toiletries and a pair of boys jeans from a Pep store to the value of R375.57.
She had 10 previous convictions of theft from July 2002 to January 2011.

* Thabu Phurachathu (31), from Windmill Park, appeared in court on charges of possession of house break-in or vehicle break-in implements.
He pleaded guilty and was found guilty on July 23, and sentenced on August 7, to R2 000 or four months imprisonment.
On May 24, the accused was found in possession of a bolt cutter, pipe wrench and chissel to which he could not provide a satisfactory explanation for.
Magistrate Emmanuelle Magampa presided over the matter, and Ntombi Mbonani appeared on behalf of the State.
