According to Irene, she and here husband were married in England, in 1943, during the war.

The couple immigrated to South Africa in 1969.

They have been blessed with four daughters who got married in South Africa, and a son who now lives in England.

Irene and Edmund also have 12 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.

Their anniversary was celebrated at a restaurant in Boksburg with friends and family
