Collect 5c pieces for the SPCA
Many of us usually have a whole bunch of 5c and 10c pieces lying in our wallets, and when they build up, we regularly discard them into a bowl at home or into a piggy bank we will never use.
But, there is something else you can do with those unwanted cents – support our local SPCA, and donate those unwanted brown and gold coins to help them make it through the month.
The SPCA is in desperate need of funding, and even though they are grateful to those who always help them keep afloat, they are asking everyone to assist them in making a small dent in their account to keep the animals they attend to fed and healthy.
Because the SPCA depends strongly on the generosity of the community, this fund-raiser will help the abused, abandoned and neglected animals that have been placed in their care.
“The SPCA is struggling, and if everyone could spare their 5c coins to help an animal, we would be very appreciative,” says Boksburg SPCA manager Wilma Steynbergh.
