Ongoing pipe replacement cause for concern

The affected resident claims that she logged complaints through the metro’s call centre last year November and December, but nothing has happened.

The Kheletsane family from Dawn Park have raised their grievances regarding the metro’s ongoing pipe replacement project outside their home, which has been dragging on for months.

The project began last year November at the corner of Tsesebe and Blesbok streets.

According to Katlego Kheletsane, since the project started it has made her mother’s home unappealing, especially in the front yard, due to the soil lying near their driveway.

“The project obstructs traffic, the open trench poses a danger and it causes unnecessary dust. There was no communication between the metro and us. They should have at least told us what they were doing and for how long the project would continue. We have no problem with the project, our main concern is that it has been ongoing for a long time now,” Kheletsane said.

Kheletsane highlighted that work on the project isn’t regularly, which extends the period of the project.

“We have logged complaints through the metro’s call centre last year November and December, but we haven’t heard anything,” Kheletsane said.

The Advertiser is still waiting for comment from the metro.
