Goods prices skyrocket: Some essential goods have now seen a steep hike in prices with this mask going for as much as R59.95 each at a pharmacy in Witfield. When asked as to why the mask was priced at an unusually-high, workers said it’s their boss’ decision. Panic buying has left many local supermarkets stripped of essential goods, including staple foods.
One of the normally bustling streets in Angelo informal settlement was on the first day of the lockdown relatively quiet.
