Different ways to report service delivery issues to metro

In the event that the issue is not resolved within a reasonable time, service delivery issues, such as unrepaired potholes, water leaks and electricity outages, can also be reported to your respective ward councillor, who will then be expected to assist you in getting senior municipal management to intervene.

Residents are advised to report their service delivery issues to the municipality’s call centre on 0860 543 000 to get a reference number for the complaint lodged.

The Advertiser, however, recently received many complaints from people who claimed they had tried unsuccessfully to reach anyone at the call centre.

The metro previously said the delays to get to all calls are sometimes due to high call volumes.

Should you encounter any problem to get through to the call centre, you are advised to report your frustrations via email, especially if you feel your calls were deliberately being ignored by call centre agents.

The metro spokesperson, Themba Gadebe, reminded residents that there are other ways of contacting the call centre, including email (CallCentreSupervisors@ekurhuleni.gov.za), SMS (shortcode to 30788, start the message with the prefix EMM followed by the actual query) or Twitter (use handle @EMM Call Centre).
