Two brother’s attack learners at school

Both brothers were detained at the Boksburg North Police Station.

The Boksburg North police recently arrested two brothers, aged 19 and 25, for assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm, trespassing and a fine for driving without a driver’s licence.

According to the victim, an 18-year-old learner from one of the local schools, he was going to the bathroom when he was told that two men were looking for him.

“The victim was then approached by the men and apparently one of the brothers strangled him and in that scuffle they both fell and he hit the floor, injuring his head,” said Const Justice Ramaube, spokesperson for the Boksburg North SAPS.

Ramaube said it is alleged that other learners also tried to intervene and they were also assaulted, including a 14-year-old girl.

“During investigation it was discovered that the pair gained access to the school by disguising that they were going to the gym. It was also discovered that the driver of the vehicle had no licence,” Ramaube said.

An okapi knife, which allegedly fell out of the suspect’s pocket, was taken by the police as evidence.

Ramaube highlighted that the motive behind the fight is unknown and investigations continue.

Boksburg North station commander, Col Kumbulani Mbatha, condemned the incident that happened at the school. He thanked police officers for responding on time and for preventing further harm.
