Burglars target numerous houses, businesses in Boksburg

The following cases were reported to the Boksburg SAPS

• A resident of Sunward Park returned from a trip to Cape Town on February 4 to find that thieves had forced their way into his home on Tosca Road and stole a pricey TV set. The thieves forcefully opened the window to gain entry.

• In Freeway Park, thieves forced their way into a residential property on Waaiboom Street and stole goods worth thousands of rands on February 13.

According to the police report, the homeowner left his home at about 10am and returned around noon to discover that thugs had burgled his house and stole a TV set and other valuable items.

• Burglars entered Kings Hotel’s bar section through the roof and stole a substantial amount of alcohol and an entertainment system sometime between 11.30am on February 14 and 8.30am the following day. Stolen items include two LG 40-inch TVs, four LG speakers and liquor valued at about R60 000.

• In Montagu Street, Boksburg, thieves forced their way into a residential house and stole valuable goods on February 15. The victim left home at about 8am for work.

When he returned at about 9.30pm, he discovered someone had entered the house and stolen his laptop, cash, a cellphone and other items.

• In Sunward Park, thieves broke into a residential property on Constellation Road and stole speakers and a TV set. The break-in took place sometime between on February 14 and 15.

• Casa Do Campo Portuguese Restaurant & Pub was broken into on February 17.

Thieves forced their way into the property and stole three TV sets. According to police reports, thieves forcefully opened the box housing the batteries and stole two cabinets containing four lithium batteries and 16 lead-acid batteries, all worth about R76 800.

• Burglars ransacked a residential house on Currey Street in Parkrand on February 17. The homeowner left her property and went to work in the morning, but when she returned she discovered thieves had forcefully opened the kitchen door to enter her house.

They stole jewellery, a decoder, DVD player, amplifier and R2 500 in cash.
