Heavy downpours over the weekend caused flooding on Hospital Road under the railway line bridge in Plantation, preventing motorists from crossing the stretch of the road.
Both the low-lying area under the railway bridge on Trichardts Road and the informal settlements in Boksburg have been for years presenting the city with problems during rainy seasons.
The Ekurhuleni Disaster and Emergency Management Services (DEMS) recently issued a statement, warning motorists against crossing flooded roads and bridges and encouraged drivers to use alternative routes where possible.
