Solidarity Helping Hand is reaching out to the community

Solidarity will be collecting any kind of stationary items for their stationary project for underprivileged children for 2020.

Solidarity Helping Hand Boksburg is reaching out to the community for support during the festive season.

“We hereby wish to present the 45 families on our feeding scheme’s wish list for Christmas donations,” said Alida Reed from Helping Hand Boksburg.

“The situation with most of these families is that one or both breadwinners have been retrenched. Others are a scenario of being a single parent with insufficient income to provide their basic needs. Pensioners struggle to make ends meet with the small income they receive each month.”

She stressed that Solidarity Helping Hand Boksburg is unfortunately not in the position to assist all 45 families and pleads for help from the community.

“Donations in the form of food, clothes, kitchenware, linen, furniture, curtains, toys, unwanted gifts like perfume, make-up or jewellery are welcome. Any contribution will be appreciated.

“We are also busy collecting Christmas gifts for the adults and children of the families in our feeding scheme. Any donations of toys, books, unwanted gifts, perfumes, aftershave lotions, deodorants, purses, handbags or jewellery will be most welcome.”

For more information or to make a contribution, contact Alida Reed on 082 228 3552 or Amanda Zeelie on 083 399 1688.
