A great day of fun in support of the Boksburg SPCA

Approximately R17 000 was raised for the Boksburg SPCA. Part of the proceeds will also go towards the Springs, Brakpan and Nigel SPCAs.

Animal lovers gathered at the Boksburg City Stadium for Mini Club SA’s Paws Before You Drive recently to donate tons of dog food and funds to the furry friends at the Boksburg SPCA.

The day was well attended with about 135 cars from various car clubs and community members on display.

There was an air of excitement as dogs on leads were welcome to spend the day with their families.

Attendees could enjoy a showcase of vehicles, delicious food such as boerewors rolls and bunny chows.

Dhanen Pillay and Marco da Costa Dias, the founders of Mini Club SA, described the event as a success.

“We wanted to raise funds and donations for the Boksburg SPCA to make a difference to our four-legged friends,” said Pillay.

“We then asked our friends and sponsors to assist us with the fund-raising event and they were more than happy to support this worthy cause. We are pleased with the turnout as more car clubs supported the event this year.

“I would like to thank everybody that contributed to the success of the event and the Carnival Baseball Club for the use of their fields and clubhouse.”
