Sector Three residents snub crime imbizo

The meeting was attended by members of the Boksburg SAPS, CPF, EMPD, Youth Desk and local security companies.

The police’s Sector One crime imbizo went ahead as planned, but police say they were left dismayed by the lack of participation by community members.

Sector Three consists of Parkrand, Parkdene, Cinderella and Farrar Park.

Boksburg SAPS spokesperson Const Ntsako Ledwaba said although the event was well publicised, residents didn’t show up at the public event held at the Girls Guide Hall on Southvale Street, Parkdene, on November 9.

“We understand many residents complain about crime situations in their respective areas. And for that reason we organise such imbizos to serve as platforms for all the stakeholders to devise some sort of strategy whereby all parties can work together to address the crime problems, but residents seem to be unforthcoming,” said Ledwaba.
