SPCA rescues a pit bull in Anderbolt
To report any animal cruelty cases you may call the Boksburg SPCA on 011 916 5906/7.
The Boksburg SPCA confiscated a male pit bull from a local company in Anderbolt on October 14.
According to Boksburg SPCA manager Vicky Finnemore, they received a complaint concerning the pit bull and upon arrival at the given address, SPCA inspectors were denied entry onto the premises by the uncooperative owner.
“The suspicious behavior led to the application for a warrant which was granted by the Boksburg Magistrate’s Court.
“Our inspectorate found a pit bull chained to a peg in the ground and suffered with what appeared to be a broken leg,” Finnemore said.
Finnemore said the owner claimed that the dog had been injured for only three days.
“The pit bull was confiscated and an x-ray scan confirmed a severe case of painful bone cancer.
“Sadly, our poor boy had to be euthanased. The Boksburg SPCA is looking into laying criminal charges of cruelty against all who participated in the suffering of this animal,” Finnemore said.
Finnemore urged the public to help them rescue more animals who aren’t taken care of.
