Witfield Park Retirement Centre hosts a health expo

Guests had the opportunity to get their ears, glucose, cholesterol and sugar levels tested by some of the exhibitors, free of charge.

Approximately 100 people attended the annual health expo, which was hosted by the Witfield Park Retirement Centre on September 3.

Residents, staff members and other interested community members took a tour in the assembly room of the centre, where some of the health service providers had stalls.

Pharmacies, a beautician, a podiatrist and a healthcare practitioner, among others, provided more information to the attendees about their products and services, which mostly focused on the needs of senior citizens.

Cara Johnstone and Marita van der Walt from the Witfield Park Retirement Centre assisted with the organisation of the health expo.

Marita van der Walt, an organiser, said that one of the objectives of the health expo was to give their service providers the opportunity to promote their products.

“Not only did this event give our service providers the opportunity to promote their products, it also gave our residents a chance to ask questions.”
