Boksburgh North CPF Sector One gives the gift of life

The blood service encourages people to become regular donors. Check the SANBS website (sanbs.org.za) for the closest place where you can donate blood.

On August 24, the Boksburg North Sector One CPF, in partnership with Mamba Security Company and Emer-G-Med, held a blood drive in the veld on the corner of North Rand and Rondebult roads next to Engen garage.

This was part of the team’s regular blood drives which are held every six weeks.

Sector One CPF public relations officer Rene Marais said the forum and its stakeholders understand that national blood reserves are often low, and that prompted them to assist the South African National Blood Service (SANBS) to raise awareness and hold donation drives to collect more units of blood in order to meet the high demand.

The Boksburg North Sector One CPF, in partnership with Mamba Security Company and Emer-G-Med, continue to help the South African National Blood Service (SANBS) maintain a stable supply of blood. The Sector One CPF chairperson, Awie Greyling, also gave the gift of life during the event.

The event also serves as an opportunity for the CPF to interact with members of the public, the volunteers who came to give the gift of life.

“We’ve had a successful drive with more than 21 people who came here to donate blood. Our members also donated, and we encourage more people to take time to donate blood during our regular drives,” said Marais.

The event organisers also thanked donors for their continued support and dedication to this good cause.
