First responders committed to protecting learners
The next standoff will be held in September.
On August 16, the Parkdene/Cinderella (Sector 3) CPF, along with first responders converged at the corner of Tichards and Leeuwpoort Road for a mass visibility standoff.
One of the main purposes of the standoff is to ensure the safety of the students of Boksburg High School.
Recently, observant members of the CPF saved a learner from Boksburg High from muggers outside of her school.
Rudi Jacobs, chairperson of the Sector 3 CPF said: “There has been a spate of muggings on school children in the area lately, and we are here for visibility. We want to let the kids know that they’re safe.
“We work hand in hand with first responders such as Makopano, DTF Security Services, Lectronic Security and Graphite Security and E Track, during the standoffs,” said Jacobs.
“For me it’s important that the children feel safe outside of school. They’re the future of this country, and we will protect them to the best of our capabilities.

The CPF also responded to a small accident in Leeuwpoort Road.
“The feedback was that a car slightly bumped into another car. The drivers took each other’s detail in order to open a case at the police station. It was a small accident and therefore they had to open a case at the police station themselves.”
Jacobs added that they’re planning on involving other schools in their future standoffs, which is held once a month.
