A 47-year-old woman managed to run away from her house after her male friend of 25 years who had visited her allegedly attempted to rape her.
The incident took place on August 11 around 2am in Boksburg North.
According to Const Justice Ramaube, Boksburg North SAPS spokesperson, it is alleged that the friend arrived at her house in the early hours, but she didn’t suspect anything.
“The woman was astonished when her friend took off his clothes, fondled his genitals and asked her to have sex with him. The woman allegedly explained to him that she could not have sex with him,” Ramaube said.
The friend allegedly got agitated, took out a knife and threatened to stab her while hiding her cellphone.
Ramaube said the woman managed to run away to her brother’s house. When she returned to her home later on, her cellphone was missing.
The woman opened a case of attempted rape and theft at the Boksburg North SAPS.
On August 13, the police arrested the suspect at his house in Boksburg North.
