House robbery victim feels intimidated

“Not only do I want the police to investigate the case, I want them to take action as it’s now a recurring nightmare. People should be careful and vigilant."

What was supposed to be a pleasant Women’s Day, turned into a nightmare for Dr Muanamuke Ntumba and his family after being rudely awakened by criminals at his home in Morgenster Road, Freeway Park, on August 9.

Ntumba said he was awoken by a noise in the early hours of the morning and realised a robbery is taking place at his property.

“We saw a group of people enter our property. They did this regardless of the noise we made inside,” said Nthumba.

“We asked our neighbours to phone the police. In the meantime, the robbers were trying to forcefully open the doors and taking their time in the yard. They opened the car door and took whatever was inside the car.”

He said two vehicles were in the garage.

He added that when the police arrived on scene, they found the gates were opened and then locked with wire.

“We are still traumatised and scared as somebody was killed in our street about a month ago. I’m concerned about my family’s safety.
