Body of a man found in Witfield dam

A member of the public discovered the body on August 3.

The Boksburg North police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a 54-year-old man whose body was found in a dam in Witfield.

According to Boksburg North SAPS spokesperson, Const Justice Ramaube, it is alleged that the deceased phoned his employer on July 28 to tell him that he was robbed.

He apparently told his employer that he followed them around the dam.

“The man went missing from that day up until August 3 when he was discovered dead. The deceased was found to have sustained injuries on his head,” Ramaube said.

No one has been arrested and a case of inquest has been opened. Investigation is still continuing.

The police are pleading with the community to assist them with information that could led to the arrests of the suspects by phoning 08600 10111 or Ramaube on 071 675 6988.
