Finalist hopes to win Empress South Africa pageant
The pageant focuses on beauty with purpose. Throughout the year contestant are given various tasks and challenges designed to empower them. They built their personal brands and made a difference in their communities.
Dawn Park resident and Vaal University of Technology student, Candy Matola (19), is a finalist in the 2019 Empress South Africa.
She will go head-to-head with other finalists on December 16 at the Suncoast Casino’s Barnyard Theatre for the finale.
“I entered this pageant because I saw it as a platform to impact the ideology of how young people think. I believe that as young people we need to look after each other and not compete against each other,” she said.
