Dagga on sale in a Boksburg shop, one arrested

The arrested suspect in her late twenties was charged with possession and dealing in dagga.

Four EMPD Community Liaison and Public Order Policing Units’ members entered a shop on Rondebult Road on Saturday, July 20 in the afternoon and realized that the saleswoman in the shop was also selling dagga.

According to chief superintendent Wilfred Kgasago, EMPD spokesperson, the woman was immediately arrested and all the dagga on display confiscated.

“The dagga uncovered was packaged in brown paper bags and labelled seemingly according to their  quality and origin.

“Over a dozen paper bags with dagga valued at over R8 000 was seized and booked in at Boksburg police station,” siad Kgasago.

She is expected to appear in the Boksburg Magistrate’s Court on Monday.
