Complainant arrested for allegedly not being the business robbery victim

The suspect will appear in the Boksburg Magistrate's Court soon.

A security guard from a local warehouse has been arrested for allegedly being involved in a business robbery where he works.

The 33-year-old opened a case of business robbery at the Boksburg North SAPS on June 30, alleging he was held at gunpoint while suspects loaded clothes from the warehouse into their vehicle.

According to Boksburg North SAPS spokesperson Const Justice Ramaube, diligent investigations by the Trio Task Team led to the dismissal of the complainant’s statement.

“They viewed the CCTV footage and his story wasn’t collaborating with what they saw in the footage. It was discovered that the complainant could be seen assisting the suspects to load the stolen goods.”

The complainant was then arrested on July 1 and detained at the Boksburg North Police Station.
