Intruder shoots at dog, bullet strikes the victim

Below are some of the robberies recently reported to the Boksburg police:

• A Parkdene couple woke up to find three intruders in their bedroom holding them at gunpoint at about 3am on June 8.

The family’s dog apparently sensed that something was wrong, started to bark and entered approaching the intruders to apparently help the couple.

One of the thugs aimed his gun at the barking dog and fired one shot. He missed the target and the bullet struck the one of the victim’s left leg. The couple managed to run out of the house.

The thugs stole three laptops and three cellphones and fled the scene.

• A Parkdene resident was robbed of his belongings while driving along Commissioner Street in Dunswart on June 6.

The complainant told the police that it happened just before 6pm, when he was driving in a white Hyundai that the robber confronted him while waiting for the traffic light on the corner of Commissioner Street and Van Dyk Road to turn green.

The criminal held him at gunpoint and stole his wallet and cellphone. No shots were fired and no injuries suffered.
