NPO launches literacy programme to help learners with reading
Shine has been involved in various community projects, such as feeding schemes and soup projects. They also assisted with the set-up of the Reiger Park Crisis Centre.
Shine, am NPO established in 1997 that focuses on education, recently launched a literacy programme at Goede Hoop Primary School, Reiger Park.
The aim of the programme is to ensure that the children’s reading skills are up to standard.
A group of volunteers will give up their free time during the working week to teach Grade Two and Grade Three learners to empower them through education.
This programme will transform the learners’ education journey.
Shine currently focuses on four projects:

Shine, an NPO, recently launched a literacy programme at Goede Hoop Primary School, Reiger Park.
“We are looking for volunteers to help run the Shine literacy hour,” said Zandi Dlamini from Shine.
“You will be giving support to children to help strengthen their reading, writing and speaking skills.
“Volunteers support the same children each week on a Monday and a Thursday during the school morning. No previous experience is needed as training and ongoing support will be provided.”
