Man sentenced for defeating the ends of justice

The matter was finalised on January 30 at the Boksburg Magistrate's Court. The accused was found guilty and was sentenced to a postponed sentence for the period of two years

Nkosinathi Khumalo of Dawn Park was sentenced to two years in prison for defeating the ends of justice.

In November the accused said he was guarding a house in Dawn Park while the owner was on vacation.

According to Const Nkemeleng Mabula from the Dawn Park SAPS, Khumalo called the police and said three men entered the house and pointed a firearm at him.

“He said the suspects took two plasma TVs and a case of robbery was opened at the Dawn Park police.

“The case was assigned to Const Tshepo Mathebe and through excellent investigation, it was revealed the accused was lying about the house robbery because he was at the tavern at the time.”

A case of defeating the ends of justice was opened.
