EMPD officer in hot water for shooting a motorist
The motorist had to be rushed to hospital.

Police are investigating a case of attempted murder after an EMPD officer shot and injured a motorist who was escaping arrest along Dinsley Road in Freeway Park, on March 2.
According to Ledwaba, the Kempton Park-based EMPD officer told the officers, who attended the scene that he was driving along Dinsley Road when he noticed a suspicious white Polo Classic parked in the roadside.
He stopped to investigate, but the driver of the Polo started to drive away.
The officer gave chase, but the driver carried on driving. The driver subsequently stopped and upon inspecting the car the officer discovered that the car had no licence disc.
Thereupon, he told the driver that he was under arrest, but the man attempted to flee the scene on foot.
That was when the EMPD officer fired a shot at the fleeing man and the bullet hit him in the right thigh.
