Watch: Homeowner prevents burglars from making off with household items

As he was approaching his house on Cawood Street at about 2.45pm, driving in his Land Rover, the homeowner noticed a white Mercedes-Benz parked at the gate, and three men exiting his yard.

A Boksburg South man happened to arrive home at the right time to prevent burglars from making off with his valuable house content on February 21.

The homeowner parked his vehicle right in front of the strangers, blocking their escape.

The men, however, accosted the victim and smashed his vehicle window and grabbed his car keys, before jumping into their getaway car.

They managed to manoeuvre out of the tight spot after bashing into the victim’s vehicle.

The homeowner later entered his house and found that the suspects had forced their way into the house and packed up his belongings, including a TV set, whiskey and jewellery. However, nothing was stolen from the property.

The burglars’ getaway car is parked on the road, facing oncoming traffic, outside the targeted home.
The burglars left the victim’s vehicle with a smashed window, a bashed-in bumper and without car keys.
