It appears as if rats have made homes in the drains of the city centre and especially along Commissioner Street and its environs.
The filthy little food stalls situated in and around Commissioner Street are primarily to blame as are the pavement hawkers and the populace in general, who have no sense of cleanliness whatsoever.
The taxi rank in the middle of the city and the general filth left by the populace without any thought or cause whatsoever for hygiene, needs to be addressed.
Of course the relevant shop owners should take some steps to clean up their act.
Perhaps it is possible for the health department to consider the problem and take some steps to eradicate the little four-legged beasts and the causes for their presence.
Perhaps the council could at the same time make repairs to the pavements and roadways.
We trust we will have a healthier, cleaner Boksburg in the new year.
