
On October 18 at about 2.30pm a complainant stopped a taxi in Rietfontein Road on the way to the East Rand Mall.
She climbed in and the taxi turned into Ross Street. The driver told her that they are going to pick up another client.
When the taxi stopped around the corner one of the four men inside the taxi held her at gunpoint.
They robbed her of cash, a cellphone and her bank cards. She later noticed that they withdrew cash from her bank account.
• Possession of stolen property
Officers were patrolling in Main Street, Anderbolt on October 10 at about 7pm when they noticed a suspicious-looking man.
When they approached him, the suspect dropped certain items and ran. They apprehended the suspect and found stolen goods in his possession. They arrested the suspect and detained him.
• The following arrests were made during the week from October 14 to 20:
Shoplifting 9; theft 17; fraud 1; common assault 2; contravening the Second Hands Goods Act 1; Contravening the Liquor Act 11; possession of illegal substances 19; contravening of the Counterfeit Goods Act 4; common robbery 2; business breaking and theft 1; driving under the influence 3; warrant of arrest 2; housebreaking and theft 1; interfering with police duties 1, possession of stolen property 2.
