Comet’s husband and wife duo crowned Dancing Under African Skies champs

The Henry couple has a non-profit organisation called the Henriette Dance Project and is running a dance programme at Kids Haven Benoni which has proven to be successful.

Cheslyn Henry and his wife, Hayley, from Comet are the official Dancing Under African Skies professional show dance 2018 champions.

The competition was hosted at Emperors Palace and ran over three days.

The competition is recognised by Fred Astaire International and gave all South African dancers the opportunity to compete against dancers from abroad, and to be coached and judged by international experts.

“It was a glamorous and unique experience,” said Cheslyn, who pointed out they performed in support of Cansa.

“It was quite overwhelming for both of us as we danced in honour of our late moms who were our biggest fans.”

Hayley has just completed a one-year world tour with the Evita production and was welcomed home by her husband with a challenge to enter the competition.

“We are very active with the community and would like to see more children on the dance floor,” said Cheslyn.

The couple also owns the Boksburg franchise Adventure Boot Camp for Women.
