Man receives three years for stealing pair of shoes

The accused has previous convictions of house robberies in March 2016 in Vosloorus and theft in April 2018 in Johannesburg.

The Boksburg Magistrate’s Court has sentenced a 25-year-old Vosloorus man, Wandile Phiri, to three years imprisonment for stealing a pair of shoes worth R79.99 from Pep Store.

He pleaded guilty and was found guilty on June 11, before being sentenced on August 10 for theft.

Phiri stole the pair of shoes on May 11.

A probation officer’s report was presented.

Magistrate Jurg Viviers presided over the matter and Ntombi Mbonani appeared on behalf of the State.
