Frustrations as water leak continue in Sky and Blue streets

Residents are tired of the metro's empty promises and demand action

It has been two months now since residents of Sky and Blue streets reported a water leak but nothing has been done since.

Sky street resident Anneline Smith said a municipal worker came and told them that there’s a problem with the water pipes.

“We are tired of the municipality because when they try to fix something they break it. Even Blue Street is experiencing the same problem as us.

“I am now having problems with my solar geyser. It is always leaking. We now have to bath with cold water because the geyser is no longer functioning normally.”

Themba Gadebe, spokesperson for the Ekurhuleni metro, said the address for the complaint logged for the water leak on the corner Sky Street and Champion Street is incorrect.

“These two streets don’t cross and hence the leak was not found. The team has been instructed to drive down both streets mentioned in an effort to locate the leak,” Gadebe said.
