Suspected stolen computer hard drives discovered at flea market

In other cases, one suspect was arrested for being in possession of a toy gun and another was in possession of a panga

The following cases were reported at the Boksburg North SAPS:

* On May 11, at 10.15am, a complainant was in the flea market. He noticed some items on sale and identified those items as the items that were stolen from his company in Midrand.

He called the Boksburg North SAPS and the person in the shop could not produce invoices for those items. The items were computer hard drives. The suspect was arrested.

* Sergeant Gerhardt Diedericks was patrolling in Boksburg North on May 11 late in the evening on the corner of Trichardt Street and Massel Road in Beyers Park, when he noticed a suspicious-looking vehicle with an occupant.

He stopped and searched the person and the vehicle. He found a toy gun under the driver’s seat. He arrested the suspect for possession of a dangerous weapon.

* A man was arrested on May 12, at 8pm, when sergeant Thambulo Netshithavadulu patrolled Main Street, Witfield.

When he stopped and searched the suspect, he found a panga in his possession. The suspect could not explain why he was in possession of a dangerous weapon.

* All second-hand goods dealers must take note. You must apply for renewal of your licence in accordance with the Second-hand Goods Act, 90 days before expiry of a current licence.
