Five suspects denied bail for kidnapping Eden Laird

The case has been postponed to May 15 for further investigation.

The five arrested for kidnapping baby Eden Laird were denied bail in the Palmridge Court yesterday (May 7).

The nightmare for the parents of Eden, who was abducted on May 2, ended over the weekend when the child was found in a home in Windmill Park.

According to the Alberton Record, they are facing charges of schedule six kidnapping and blackmail.

The accused are Cleopatra Manjankozi, Kholwani Nyathi, Amos Moyo, Maduna Nonkanyiso and Nelisini Gabela.
The domestic worker worked for Eden’s parents for two years.

Three of the five suspects have private legal representation and two will make use of legal aid.

Three will be detained in Boksburg Prison and the other two in Johannesburg Prison.
